Dunce was once President of the Libertarian Party.

The Libertarian Party's stance on censorship is posted below.

Dunce is a Hypocrite with a capital "H."

The Libertarian Party strongly opposes all forms of government censorship and regulation of speech, communication, and the press.

    Core Positions on Censorship

Absolute Free Expression: The Libertarian Party Platform supports full freedom of expression and objects to any government control over media and technology.

Rejection of Speech Restrictions: The party maintains that language perceived as offensive is not a valid reason for legal action. They argue that speech does not constitute aggression or violence unless it is a literal threat of physical harm.

Opposition to Government Pressure on Private Platforms: Libertarians believe public officials should not use regulations or threats to pressure private companies into censoring or moderating online content. At the same time, they uphold the property rights of private platforms to set their own terms of service under a free market.

Access to Information: The party asserts that self-ownership requires unfiltered access to all information, free from government propaganda or a designated "truth police".

Its just so fascinating. I had no idea. I'll be very interested to hear about George's stories if he ever decides to share.

Such a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Always amazed to learn about some of the interesting people who have been on this site at one point or another over the years

    Larry Flint
    Michael Jackson
    Tami Stronach
    Dan Quayle
    Siedah Garrett
    Michael K. Williams
    Alan Keyes
    among others

Larry "Flint" may have been on Usenet, but Larry Flynt was not. In fact, none of the names listed were ever on Usenet.

Yes, I had a typo in his name.

Who ever said anything about Usenet?

And what, Chunk, do you mean by "this site?" On a computer, on Earth, alive? They weren't on alt.arts.poetry.comments. They weren't on JLA Forums.

    This site.

I never said anything about AAPC either. :?:

Are you having a slow AI day today, Chunk? What is "this site," if not JLA Forums, Usenet, the Internet or AAPC? Are you writing from the moon (or Russia?). Yes! Maybe they have all visited Russia and you know that! Da.

Ok, I'll try again. This site. The same one both of us are posting on.

But since he is no longer with us, I think it's safe to share this one interesting story as an example.

Back in April 2020 in one of the private groups I follow here, Larry Flynt (who was a frequent poster) started a thread and had a very interesting discussion about this old thread from another public group.

    http://www.jlaforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=408467489

There was a considerable long conversation about it and the thread went on for some time. One of the mods here was involved and mentioned that they threw the original old thread up on one of the social media channels. After that he (Larry) responded that he "liked it" from his account on that platform. The mod said thanks and posted the screenshot of it below.

I'm sorry, MC, but this looks extremely sus.

The link you posted goes to a 2003 thread about Larry Flynt, who does not participate in the discussion.

I realize that you're saying he posted about a 2003 thread in 2020 (17 years after the fact) but... why? It isn't a memorable discussion by any stretch of the imagination.

And why is this "private group" so private that you can't even mention its name?

    Ok '

My understand is there are hundreds of private groups here just like this aapc public group we are posting in.

I follow and post in a few of them.

Hopefully others find the story I shared interesting, I certainly do. It was always a pleasure to read his posts. Quite a character.

Anyway.... it still is fascinating and to be honest, we should be thankful and honored to have someone such as George posting here with us. We are lucky he hasn't disconnected considering all the misbehaved people that taint this group with such negativity from time to time.

George, really look forward and hope to hear some of the stories about the great experiences of your life.

It looks sus because it is. Chunk got caught with his pants down in AI-bragging about things that can be checked.

Who on that "private group" thought that was the real Larry Flynt? We could change our display name to Marilyn Monroe--would that mean that Marilyn was now on JLA Forums (or "this site")?

If it was the real "Larry Flynt," how did he find the private group, since none of us have ever seen a "private group" listed in JLA Forums. How did he "like" the photo, since that seems to be only on groups like Facebook?

At any rate, the real Larry Flynt did not use the Internet and was not on any JLA Forums group:

From the esteemed George Dunce's Trusted Source and Only Friend:

"No, Larry Flynt did not personally participate or hang out on internet sites, forums, or online groups. While his company, Larry Flynt Publications, heavily transitioned into the digital space"building adult websites, digital archives, and streaming platforms"Flynt himself was famously tech-averse when it came to personal web use.

Key factors behind his lack of personal online activity include: Distrust and Disinterest in Technology: Flynt openly admitted that he did not use computers. He preferred traditional media, monitored the stock market through specialized tickers or brokers, and intensely followed physical news print and television broadcasts.

Corporate Management style: While he famously predicted that the internet would eventually take a massive toll on print publishing, his personal involvement in the internet was strictly as an executive. He left the web development, forum moderation, and digital assets of the Hustler brand to his digital media teams.

Health and Physical Constraints: Following a 1978 assassination attempt that left him paralyzed from the waist down, Flynt dealt with unrelenting spinal pain. His daily routine was highly structured and assisted by staff, meaning he did not spend leisure time browsing early internet spaces like Usenet newsgroups, AOL chat rooms, or later social media sites.Any official social media accounts or blogs under his name (such as Facebook or X) were entirely run by his publicists and corporate marketing teams."
