    No, I didn't begin writing the column for Playgrounds Magazine until after I won the poetry award.

    Basically, winning the poetry award led *to* writing the monthly column.

    From 1998-2015, every month for nearly twenty years, plus a poem in every issue.

    Do the math, at 12 issues per year, that's a lot of published poetry and columns.
