Another source for this piece of folklore might be that Will Dockery is known for being both a coward and a bully -- prone to pick fights with strangers in a poetry group who have no means of physically hurting him (unless, of course, they drive 400 miles to assassinate him with a sniper's bullet at a Doo-Nanny).
Since Brother Dave suffered from both dwarfism and retardation, he would have proven an easy target for Will to abuse.
It has often been speculated that Will and DirtNap might have had a more amicable relationship if Dave had simply given his brother the coveted knit cap.
Will Donkey got the knit cap, although it was Stinky George who beat Brother Dave over the head with a metal rod to get it.
Now Will Donkey has fun pretending that he looks like Bill Murray in "The Life Aquatic." In the image below, he's suited up and ready to submerge.
