Someone comented to me last night on a private i2p irc server
when I told them I started now to play watch dogs 2
that there is a new hacker movie coming out based on the first
watch dog game based on Chicago, and that the theme is like the game
an anarchist hacker against the survillance state the trailer if is real
looks good, new actors etc I did some fast digging and seem like is true
it was announced 6-7 years a go.

PS: I played that game, is good I enjoyed it, of course the hacking is
freaking LAME nothing like the real thing I hope the movie is more like
MrRobot with real hacking and less than the video game.

Ok seems like the trailer is fan made but seems like the movie is a
thing.

After a decade of rumors, UbisoftrCOs Watch Dogs movie adaptation is officially in

Knowing how Ubisoft works, that the movie has been in preproduction for
so many years, like many others that have come out horrible or cancelled without notice, and especially with the problems Ubisoft is having right
now on the verge of bankruptcy, I would not expect anything good from
this movie.

PS: I liked the games specially the first one, the story was quite good
(lot of 'flipadas' but good still, was more mature in topics than the
second game I would say) . There are very few games that do hacking in realistic way, as a gamedev myself I can tell is hard to translate,
specially if you want to sell.

I wouldn't expect much from the movie, knowing the current state of
Ubisoft, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. They have several movies
that have been a long time in preproduction and still don't see the
light at the end of the tunnel (as well as their games LOL).
However, their film and television line usually does things moderately
well, so maybe it will work out well, who knows.

PS: I liked both Watch Dogs games (Legion is mediocre, I don't recommend
it), but the first one in particular seemed to me to have a better plot
with more mature themes, although at the rCLhackingrCY level there were 'flipadas' everywhere, but entertaining all the same.
To transfer a fairly realistic hacking without sacrificing gameplay and
turn it into a simulator is difficult task (specially if you want to
sell), I say this as gamedev.
