Miss Marple will probably be played by a black or asian

You have just described how the BBC would adapt an Agatha

    Look out!

    Talking about looking out...

You especially might be interested in the Netflix adaptation of
Agatha Christie's "The Seven Dials Mystery" that's currently
being filmed... it's been written by a certain Mr Chris Chibnall!

Due on Netflix in 2025 it should be interesting...

I might regret saying this but I am actually looking forward to
    it.

    Only three?!

    <shudders> Yes, Helen Hayes.

Nope. She was born in London in 1925. Her father was British and her
monther was Irish. In 1940, after her father died a few years earlier
and to escape the wartime bombing blitz, Angela (about 15 years old),
her two borthers, and her mother moved to New York, then her and her

"The Mirror Cracked", released in 1980. It also had some big name

be the first of a trilogy of movies with Lansbury playing Miss Marple,
but the other two weren't made because the first one wasn't successful

That's because it wasn't that good... it was an okay film but a
typical example of when the American studios try and do a film
adaptation of a decent novel and hope the big names will carry
    the film.

The bad news is, 20th Century Studios are supposedly planning a
Miss Marple film following the success of the two Kenneth
Branagh Hercule Poirot film adaptations... so we'll see how that
turns out. I'm sure it'll look lovely and be full of big names,
it's the 'changes for a modern audience' that usually throws the
    spanner in to the works.

Lansbury playing Miss Marple, but the other two weren't made
because the first one wasn't successful at the box office.
