I want to run a bbs on a mac, but mac bbses are not as mature as linux or windows bbses.

Hey! honestly, just host a bbs in DOCKER (on the mac, you would use
OrbStack, it is way more performant ... Then you can run dos BBSs, c64,
unix whatever. I run Synchronet and BinkTermBBS, they can coexist, may
even add mystic. As long as you have enough ram, they can run idle in
the background, you can also configure docker to sleep the containers
    until someone connects.

It is way safer too.. last thing you want is a bbs software to get
hacked and compromize your home network. Docker does a great job and compartmentalizing it all.

I personally use cloudflared and web sockets as well, just so I do not
have to put my computer on the internet. Lots of options for the mac.
