Dude - you've been dropping so much awesome-sauce on the community - thanks for sharing this, I can't wait to swing by and see what its all about and I'm adding this to my 'whats new in bbSing' text.
You flipping r0ck, Derdoc!! :P

Thanks man! I'm surprised it worked out so well but after seeing telnetvision shake out ok I figured I'd see if any of the lessons
learned there might make something like this possible, and it turned out better than I expected with the snowball effect. I'm curious if anyone's able to build on the engine; makes me wonder if something like Minecraft might be possible, which I'd probably play more than a shooter, then
again I ran a real Minecraft server and that thing hogged memory like a beast, so maybe that's a bad idea.
The other tangent that this door has led me to explore is ANSI music, Sp3kDer has a bit of pointless logic devoted to music, including the "Piano roll" / "Guitar hero style" falling notes on the splash screen. It's pretty much begging to be broken out into its own "Keytar Hero" or something game.
Right now I'm banging out a quick utility door I've been sitting on for awhile idea wise that is sort of a modern calendar for BBS that syncs
with iCal and google calendars. But the main idea is to maybe have a shared BBS event calendar (as well as personal or bbs level calendars)
to direct users to one BBS or experience for some sort of time-boxed event, maybe also opening up a telnet-gateway (WIP). But also works
like normal calendar sync too.
It is really really really good - I didn't realize you released the engine??? Where can I find it - is there a github?

Yeah, the source code is all open https://github.com/hmderdoc/spekder - I wouldn't say it's like an "engine" in the sense like
a major 3D engine has with tons of fancy API's but I guess it is easily forkable, ask an AI coding agent for help and it'd be
able to make easy work of extending it with say an adventure mode, new skins, new scenery, etc. There's also an embeded map
editor in the game buried in the OPTIONS which I haven't used much, but the idea is a sort of no-code gamemaker - the basics
are definitely in app to build an arena. I think maybe if I could add
NPC dialogues plus the things that go along with that to
the map editor could see some amusing stuff also come out of those hypothetical custom maps/modes.

I dropped by there the other day for the first time. Unfortunately, I only had a couple min., but what struct me right away was the the video
ad as soon as you connected. While I was impressed seeing video on a
BBS, being an ad didn't. This was the first BBS I'd seen carrying commercial adverts. ISOT, I do look forward to spending more time exploring. --- SBBSecho 3.37-Linux
Fairly sure they're just streaming VIDEO/TV - it isn't about the 'advert' you saw, rather the tech that allows us to be trolled even when connceting
