    It has been brought to the world's attention that your personal data and records may be stored indefinitely, in simple terms, permanently. Your info may out last your whole life, right past even death. We want be be able to be forgotten sometimes. With the Internet and global surveillance that may no longer be a thing. We literally have a permanent record.

    Edward Snowden has written a book about this situtation. His book is appropriately named "Permanent Record" and is available at any fine book store.

    The book covers more than persistent data retention, and is a good read.

    Worth a reader's reflection is the 99.99% of the participants in the world Snowden writes about have remained quiet and tacitly appear compliant with the situation.

    Data doesn't have a sunset or any other "qualitative indicator" - so not only may old data live forever, it may be counterfactual data all along.

    "Bad data" is just as imortal as "Good data."

    Quite messy when you think about it!
