Many years ago I got an AC/DC transformer brick that had some sort of major problem with it. It didn't overheat, nor did it make any easily audible sounds, but when it was turned on the radio stations became completely jammed.
There was no frequency response from any radio station. Out of childish curiousity I brought it to a professional gentlefolks meeting that happened to be held in the conference room at a local police station. So I plugged it in in the conference room. Everything went wrong, very wrong. The police thought that they might be under attack as all their video cameras went out and the cops were yelling this and that. They were genuinely worried as they had never experienced their systems all go down simultaneously. I didn't know that it would have such a profound effect on their systems. I unplugged it and the frantic worries dissipated. When I got home I brought the power brick to a local garbage bin and threw it out. Now it would have been cool to keep some kit that had so much magical powers but I thought against that idea.

    Some story from my youth,
