Man-made Catastrophe,

That seems like the next front against the Human race. Specifically, the poisoning of the water supplies that the World needs to survive. People can last weeks without food, but only days without water. If our water reserves were ever compromised it could decimate millions and having millions of people die from thirst or from germs found in contaminated water. There are many authors who bring possible dystopian futures into the minds' eyes of the well studied folks. The counter-terrorism folks study CBRN possibilities, and it is very good that they do this. CBRN is a short-form for CHEMICAL, BIOLOGICAL, RADIOLOGICAL, and NUCLEAR from which the counter-terrorist agents shudder. In this scenario, the majority of the food harvested from the oceans will have died, and the waters are poisonous to drink. With the current trend of adding several billion people to our population every half-century, the vulnerability of this sort will only be exacerbated.

The question remains: how do you protect against an enemy who is willing to poison themselves and their own people in the acting against perceived infidels. The current Iranian regime believes that if they cause catastrophe the sooner their messiah will come to Earth. The old thinking of people who cause destruction only against there enemies has been outmoded to a scorched earth policy where the terrorists will kill EVERYONE to complete their Jihadi missions.

I like to be someone with a positive personality and attitude, however I'd recommend people get themselves some quality water filtration kits.
