Dr. Franz Weidenreich sought no fame. He sought bones. And
what he discovered in the quiet of laboratories in Beijing
and New York was not just a fragment - it was the key to the
greatest concealment in human history. His own history. It
all began not at a dig site, but in a dusty Hong Kong
pharmacy. There, among dried roots and insect shells, they
lay - "dragon teeth." Three colossal molars, purchased by
his colleague Koenigswald. They were twice as massive as
gorilla teeth. Science was quick to attribute them to an
extinct ape, Gigantopithecus blacki. But Weidenreich, a
veteran anatomist, felt a cold prickle of insight as he
examined the chewing surface under a magnifying glass. These
were not ape teeth. The pattern of cusps, the nature of
enamel wear, the complete absence of gaps - everything
screamed of human nature. The creature was not an ape. It
was a hominid. And Weidenreich gave it its true name:
Gigantropus, or Giant Man. Then, jaws were found on the
island of Java - huge, heavy, as if carved from stone for
a titan. These were the remains of Meganthropus. And the
logical chain closed. In the mind of Weidenreich, exiled
from Germany for his Jewish heritage and who had seen worlds
crumble, a heretical picture of the past was born. He
challenged dogma, stating: human evolution is not a path
from small to great, but a great path of reduction. At the
dawn of time, giants walked the Earth. Bipedalism, that
sacred mark of humanity, required a colossal foundation -
a skeleton capable of withstanding vertical load without
collapse. Nature created such giants. Weidenreich
constructed his phylogenetic chain, a line of reduction,
receding into the misty depths of millennia: Gigantropus >
Meganthropus > Pithecanthropus > Javan Man. Giants were not
a mistake or a dead end. They were the foundation. From
their bony might, through gradual reduction, liberation from
mass, we - humans - were born. And here the most ingenious
aspect of his theory unfolded. Weidenreich, as an anatomist,
calculated: the monstrous jaws of the giants required
equally monstrous muscles, attached to the bony ridges on
the skull. This titanic trap compressed the braincase,
preventing its development. But as reduction began, as jaws
and muscles shrank, the skull was freed from its shell. And
then, like an explosion, came the rapid growth of the brain.
Our intellect, our civilization - a direct consequence of
liberation from a giant heritage. But Weidenreich went
further. He linked this to another scientific heresy of his
    - polycentrism. Asia, with its "dragon teeth" and Javanese
jaws, was the cradle of a giant proto-race. From there,
through a series of reductions, Mongols and Australoids
arose. And then the scientist turned his gaze to ancient
texts. Greek titans, biblical Rephaim, giants of
Scandinavian sagas and Asian chronicles - what if these were
not allegories? His conclusion was like the strike of a
hammer: myths of giants are memory. Vague, distorted, but
real recollections of humanity about its giant ancestors,
whom we have relegated to the realm of legends. Weidenreich
died in 1948, leaving behind not just a theory, but an
indictment against official history. His work points to the
fact that we walk on earth that once trembled under the
stride of giants, and that in our blood, our skeletons, and
even our tales, lives the shadow of the giant man, the true
progenitor, whose legacy we still dare not accept. Science
shelved his work, marking it "marginal." But the question he
posed still hangs in the air: What if he was right after
    all?
