• Elon's "America Party" debacle

From k9zw@700:100/37 to All on Wed Jul 2 13:13:19 2025
Elon belives he has a right to the American people's wallets and is unhappy he isn't going to be propped up by law granting his EVs subsidies and mandates.

So in petulant style he wants to launch an additional minority party, which he thinks the American people will somehow support.

Seldom do we see a public figure alternating between "friend and champion" for the people and an alter-ego "pirate mode."

Like the Venus Flytrap in the Little Shop of Horrors, Elon can basically be summed up as "Feed Me!" predator approach to the people.

Narcissism mixed with Autism perhaps? Or plain Greed?

Doesn't much matter to the common man on the American Streets, does it?

... As I said before, I never repeat myself

Trump threatened to "DOGE" him on the news this morning. Karma?

I see an opportunity for a centrist party, but I sure wouldn't back
    Musk to create it.

Elon should be less concerned with EV subsidies and more concerned with the fact he burnt his bridges with team blue when he made his move to join the Trump camp. If he thinks the dems are going to forget his betrayal and the fact he gave material support to Trump he is mistaken. The next time the dems get power they will go after him and his companies and he will suffer more than a loss of subsidies.

He is like a child who is playing with fire. He hitched his wagon to Trump and regardless of the current bill he is now the only game in town for Elon. A new libertarian party by a different name will offer Elon nothing. That will not protect him from the dems. If he was smart he would be pumping money into Trump adjacent people and supporting that network as best as he can. Tough shit if you have to compromise on your "principles." All that matters is winning.

The dems understand that. Do what you must to win, reward your friends, and punish your enemies. That is the nature of politics.

In my opinion, this is a shitty show and a masquerade designed to divert attention from real problems. The question is, what kind of problems about? Falling fragments of unknown origin around the world, a series of anomalous earthquakes, an acceleration of the planet's rotation, the entry of another Oumuamua into the solar system, supernova explosions, the boiling of the Mediterranean Sea, and plasma solar anomalies are just a few of the events that have occurred this week.

Let alone that he used his influence in the Trump administration to
compromise US government information systems, pull who knows what
information out of them, then left, after starting with directions to
cut government waste but instead seeing government spending go up.

Let alone seeing a man so out of control that he couldn't stop taking
drugs when he knew he was going on camera in front of the American
people - tripping balls like he was a college kid at a rave.

The democrats understand that we're all Americans. Unfortunately,
they're playing by a rulebook that the republicans have tossed out, and
paying the price. We all are.
