In the 19th century, amid the popularity of spiritism, Ohio
farmer Jonathan Kuns, a former skeptic, built a special
"spirit room" under the influence of spirits through his son,
a medium. According to the instructions received, a complex
device made of copper and zinc was installed in a log cabin,
surrounded by musical instruments. This "spirit machine"
was intended to serve as a battery for manifesting spirits. In
the same spiritist paradigm, former priest and social reformer
John Murray Speer operated. After a brutal beating, he claimed
to have contacted a group of spirits called the "Electrizers,"
which included Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson. They
tasked him with building a "New Engine." The device, made
from copper, zinc, and magnets, was "born" from the medium
in 1854 and, according to witnesses, was operational. Even
the great inventor Thomas Edison was involved in these
pursuits. In 1920, he announced to the press that he was
working on a "spirit telephone" - a highly sensitive device
capable of detecting the influence of these entities on matter
and recording messages from the deceased. Edison emphasized
that his approach was strictly scientific and rejected the
methods of spiritual mediums. At the end of the 20th century,
Dr. Raymond Moody, a researcher of near-death experiences,
revived an ancient Greek necromantic practice by creating
a "psychomanteum" - a darkened room with a mirror placed
at a special angle. The purpose of this device was to
induce visions of deceased loved ones. This material
compiles methods for creating machines to communicate
with the dead from readily available materials.

    Isolator Chamber (by Kuns Method):

    - Take a metal container (for example, a trash bin) with
    a tight-fitting lid.
    - Check that the lid fits snugly. Seal any gaps with copper
    tape.
    - Inside, line the walls with egg cartons or acoustic foam.
    - Place the container on a rubber mat or felt for vibration
    isolation.

    Check:

    - Place an active radio inside. Close the lid. The radio
    should stop receiving stations.

    Recording System (by Speer's Method):

    - Place one good microphone (from a dictaphone or smartphone)
    inside the chamber.
    - Set up recording in WAV format (without compression).
    - Nearby, place a portable radio receiver.
    - Tune it to interference in the AM band.
    - Record audio simultaneously from the microphone
and the radio receiver on two separate devices.
    - Before starting the session, make a loud clap in front
of all devices. This will help synchronize the recordings
    later.

    Background Generator (by Alvarez's Method):

    - Place two metal plates inside the chamber: one copper,
one zinc. Simply lay them next to each other.
    - Nearby, position several strong neodymium magnets.
    - For background sound, use a speaker with a subwoofer.
Turn on a low-frequency generator on your phone (set to
    50-60 Hz).
    - Make the sound very quiet to produce a humming noise.

    Experiment Procedure:

    - Place the machine in an anomalous zone.
    - Close the chamber.
    - Start simultaneous recording on all devices.
    - Conduct the session for 20-30 minutes in silence.
    - Turn off the recordings.

    Summoning Spirits (by Edison's Method):

    Equipment:

    - Two independent recording devices:
    - Device 1: Dictaphone or phone with a microphone (for acoustic
    recording).
    - Device 2: Radio receiver (AM/FM band) + a second dictaphone
    ord its output.

    Synchronizer:

    - Your hands for a loud clap (or any other sharp sound -
    a click, a bang).

    Method:

    - Start both dictaphones recording.
    - Make a loud clap.
    - Conduct the seance.
    - At the end, make another loud clap.

    Experiment Mode:

    - Listen to all recordings separately.
    - Look for any knocks, voices, or sharp interference.
    - Open the recordings in a program like Audacity.
    - Use the mark from the clap to synchronize them.
    - Search for spikes that appear on both recordings
at the same time. This is the main indicator for further
    study.

    Primary Analysis:

    - Listen to each recording individually.
    - Note timestamps of any suspicious sounds (knocks, whispers,
    interference).

    Synchronization:

    - Load both recordings into Audacity.
    - Align them so that the peaks from your clap match perfectly
    on both tracks.

    Main Goal:

    - Look for any spikes (even small ones) that occur
    simultaneously on both tracks.
    - These are potential artifacts for further investigation.

    Method Essence:

    - Filter out all random noise and identify signals that manifest
simultaneously in both the acoustic and electromagnetic fields.

    Psychomanteum (by Moody's Method):

    - Darken the room.
    - Place a mirror at eye level when seated.
    - Behind you, set a weak light source (candle, nightlight)
    to see your reflection.
    - Look at your blurry reflection for 15-20 minutes.
    - This may induce visual spirit images.
