The USA used to do things in a responsible way, and that's a story that we can share with our grandkids.

Isn't this what is SUPPOSED to happen, rather than the reality of the situation?

It is also one government agency's recommendations to another (CDC to ICE).

Reports from grond zero and from the health care providers where the illegal crossers end up do not support that this screening is done, nor if there is any adverse findings that much of anything happens about it. (Maybe they have to tell immigration when their appointment comes up years later that they got it treated? IDK - actually we don't know because it is not public policy to tell us.)
