There is a new technology that allows for cut and paste of genes. This technology of called Crispr. Imagine Hitler being able to change the DNA of all the citizens of NAZI Germany so that everyone grows tall, with blond hair, and blue eyes. This technology not only can be introduced while the person is a fetus or (and this is where it gets wild) at any time after birth. So if you have Sickle Cell Anemia you could rewrite all of the cells in your body with the new genes. This doesn't just change the code of the cells but also changes the outward expression of these gene mods. So a normal person could get a jab of Cas9 and in a year after all their cells have been doped they will show themselves to be very different than in the beginning. You could copy the DNA of "lightning bugs" or "fireflies," select the part of those insects that code for the glow-in-the-dark effects, you could make a person who is as a whole body glow at night. Maybe they don't want to go so extreme, maybe they would just make their eyes glow, or change the colour of their eyes to something like orange or black.

Something to think about anyways, a dark dystopian future that can now actually happen ... all things mentioned in this message can actually happen right now this very day. If you're in charge of the future show some grace and good will to us all; just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should. People can be so preoccupied as to find whether something will work and they don't consider if they should.

The woman who re-discovered this tech had a dream of Hitler with a pig face, all about how dangerous this technology could be. She conveyed her dream to the world and noted that if this technology was ever to find its hands into a government like NAZI Germany there could be utter horrors that are unprecedented and can for obvious reasons be utterly tragic, horrors upon horrors.
