There are three main Darknet services out there: The Onion Router
(TOR), The Invisible Internet Project (I2P) and The Freenet Project.
Well, in I2P's latest major version upgrade there are something like
4 or 5 redundant traffic threads, so if a few threads go bonkers
there are still other threads to continue transferring data under
harsh network conditions. This means that I2P now rivals TOR in
stability, and surpasses TOR in terms of raw speed. Currently, I
would recommend everyone to give I2P a try, its an emerging leader
into crypto-anonymity. To check it out, hop on over to
www.geti2p.net. If you are on a fast, a very fast, connection then
please connect to the network 24/7/365 to provide a stable Darknet
backbone. Have fun with this and be sure to check it out. You will
be amazed.
This is for the I2P network in general. Please please please do not
visit any shady sites, you don't want to find out what is behind some
of its sites. I have heard that just about every kind of illegal
thing can be found on the Darknets. Using Darknet services is not
illegal; however browsing illegal content on such networks may be so,
or at the very least its a kind of "you can never unsee this" sort of
thing. Tread on the philosophical path of scientific exploration.
This can be very rewarding from an intellectual perspective but
dangerous if you go off into the darkness that can be found on the
Darknet.
So, check out I2P : It's amazing : Libre communications in the modern
world.
