There has now been made a cryptography suite for file storage that combines all the features ever wanted for such a suite. It offers multiple cryptographic algorithms that can be encoded layer upon layer. It allows for steganography so if people force you to reveal your drive's contents some neutral pocket litter types of files are found and displayed instead of the real payload. Most importantly it is free (as in freedom) and free (as in cost), and on top of that it is open-sourced, so that if there are any bugs in the code it can be quickly found out and patched. This software works on multiple operating systems, including Linux. It can encrypt the whole drive or be stored into a data file. It's entropy (randomness) is advanced and effective. It uses AES-256 and not some nutered version of AES like AES-128. Your key to encrypt and decrypt the drive can be either a large password, or a large password with a key being used at the same time which uses both a password and a key to work as an extended sort of key to add complexity to the mix. The key I'm referring to is a file. A password is used in its normal way, but the key file is an actual file that is used to increase randomness (or in other words the password is combined with a file key, or even several file keys, to make it so it just can't be cracked. From the perspective of a computer security hobbiest this software is everything you'd ever want to have back in the day when this technology did not exist. There was one specific utility that offered encryption using all the main players of the AES candidate crypto suites but the thing is that software was bogus, not actually encrypting anything in much greater form than a ROT-13 or Ceaser Cipher or something like that. It was completely rubbish. This is not. This is the power you want behind your crypto needs.
