VeraCrypt is the modern day best-of-class cryptography solution for keeping your files secure. It has a less well known feature of alloting different areas for where files are stored within the drive image.
What this means is that part of the image would have a known file area system within it and it would have a secondary secure hidden
cryptographic system that would hide the actually secret data within the "unused" area of the image file.
I use these exact hidden volumes on my Tails instances... both partitions and files, you can obfuscate date in either - and while theres ways an adversary might THINK you have m0re data... theres absolutely no way to KNOW.
That being said, it won't really save you from the guillotine - but it will save your data from eyes that CAN'T see it.
I have a blog post about adding Veracrypt volumes/partitions to Tails OS once my techheart.life website goes live... w0rking on it. Reverse Proxies are kicking my arse.
