After examining a selection of secure comms software I found this one, and its rather special... this is a full featured crypto-chat suite.

    From their Site:

"State-of-the-art end-to-end encryption (powered by the open source Signal Protocol) keeps your conversations secure. We can't read your messages or listen to your calls, and no one else can either. Privacy isn?t an optional mode ? it?s just the way that Signal works. Every message, every call, every time."

It can do video calls, text chat, and voice calls as well. You can share photos and videos. One of their quotes is : "No ads. No Trackers. No kidding."

Have fun gentlefolks, let's make our online experience more secure. And even if you don't need military strength crypto you can at least appreciate being connected with some very elite software. Fun times!

    Cheers!

Told they provide the backend for WhatsApp, so be certain their code, API, and all that is not quite as secure as their implementation seems to be.
