When only 1-2% of Iran's Internet is still functioning people needed to get creative. Remember the Plain Old Telephone System (POTS)? It just might have come to the rescue. While a 40 kbps connection is slow it is fast enough to be able to send a high resolution image every five minutes and a short video every thirty minutes. So when all else fails the good old bulletin board system may have just saved the day. While the Internet is down, the POTS system is alive and well.
Cool 'eh? Our hobby may have just let the truth of Iran's civil war be
known by the masses. How cool is that? =)
Nah.. they blocked international calls. Besides, I doubt that their system would achieve 40 kbps.
