Using other than clear text/voice in communications typically signals to observers that encription is in use.

Hearing a voice rattle off five-letter/digit code groups - 23-55-81-99-03 12-41-89-00-34 ... or GTXRG BCISI CUCVTQ... are like waving a flag.

Perhaps the way the communication is being made, that flag doesn't matter. Or it could change your transmision into one that becomes RDFed and monitored.

There are schemes that convey a second true message under the veneer of a normal conversation.

Basically understand that bring attention may not benefit your cause.

Yes, quite right k9zw, however what I'm describing there is the sound of some annoying old music that has artifacts within the song that when looked at under a spectrum analyzer there are rather silent beeps under certain songs that have something non-descript actually conveying OTP code transmissions. If you've ever went up and down SW frequency ranges late at night you may have heard the rather annoying cheezy songs that are worse than Muzak, well these transmissions can contain secret messages.

    Something to think about anyhow...
    Cheers!

an alternate way of using voice in the clear is the counter encryption method which id really like to go into detail about in a post soon.

the gist is theres a set of codes established which rotate or discard and replace over time, the codes are simole and straightforward. something akin to, "we had pancakes with maple and figs this morning, can convey a lot of information.

    pancakes - operation completed
    maple - success
figs - intelligence and materiel obtained

there can be any number of relevant and useful words use, and the lost can be as extensive as necessary.

Yes, code words are fun, hiding in plain sight. I've got a book about "Steganography: Hiding in Plain Sight" and in it are lots of useful tid-bits of information on how to say something and having it convey something that wasn't expected.

    Cheers!
