*** COMING SOON *** This was put together with some of my code and a bunch of AI (which is a first for me on coding, but this is turning out really well). So it will be FREE, no donations needed unless you want to. :)
RGTERM feature list
Terminal emulations (selectable per phonebook entry) ANSI-BBS (CP437/ANSI, full color + line-drawing) RIP (RIPscrip vector graphics) and SkyPix (Amiga, rides on RIP) Amiga (Topaz font preset on ANSI-BBS) PETSCII - C64/CBM (40 and 80 col) ATASCII - Atari 8-bit Avatar (DOS-BBS single-byte cursor/attribute scheme, pre-ANSI.SYS) Viewdata/Videotex (UK Prestel-style teletext, SAA5050 chip model) VT52 (Atari ST / GEM console) Plain ASCII / "dumb terminal" mode (no color, no CSI) OOII ("Operation Overkill ][") and DDO-F/X LITE proprietary protocols Sixel graphics
Connectivity Telnet (raw WinSock2, no external socket library) SSH2 (via bundled libssh2 - SFTP/rlogin-style auth) TLS (via bundled OpenSSL, for telnets/SSH transport security) Local shell mode (cmd.exe/PowerShell/*nix shell) instead of a remote host Headless "telnet door" mode (-S command line, TelnetDoor-compatible) for a BBS to spawn RGTERM against a live caller socket IEMSI auto-login (EMSI packet exchange, skips manual login prompts) Line-oriented login-script automation per phonebook entry
File transfer Zmodem (upload/download) Xmodem / Xmodem-1K / Ymodem / Ymodem-G Plain ASCII line upload
Audio ANSI Music (BASIC PLAY-style macros) OGG/Vorbis clip decode (via bundled vorbis DLLs) for "SyncTERM" APC audio Inline HTTP audio streaming (MP3 via Windows ACM) for "click to listen" door links
Phonebook / dialing directory Boxed lightbar UI with Name/Host/Port/Term columns Add/edit/delete/reorder entries, quick-dial, import from NetRunner/Syncterm/mTelnet
Session tools Scrollback browsing Session capture to .ans (replayable) PNG screenshot export Doorway mode (pass Alt-keys straight to the remote) Function-key (F1-F10) macros with an escape-sequence mini-language Clipboard copy/paste Fullscreen toggle, status bar toggle File browser (for picking upload files)
Accessibility Screen-reader mode (Alt+R) via SAPI5 self-voicing, since the display is a custom GDI bitmap with nothing for NVDA/JAWS to read directlyScreen sizes (Columns/Rows presets)
Cycled with Left/Right on the Columns or Rows field in the phonebook editor - picking either one snaps both together: 80×25, 80×28, 80×43, 80×50, 80×60 132×25, 132×28, 132×30, 132×34, 132×43, 132×50, 132×60
Nothing actually caps these - you can also just type a custom Cols/Rows pair by hand (e.g. 100×40) and it works. Terminal-preset default sizes (recap, for reference)
80×25 (ANSI-BBS, RIP, SkyPix, Amiga/Topaz, Avatar, ASCII), 80×25 (Atari ST/VT52), 40×25 (PETSCII 40-col, CBM, C64), 80×25 (PETSCII 80-col), 40×24 (ATASCII, ATARI), 40×24 (Viewdata). Other missing per-entry options (Alt+E editor)
Beyond Name/Host/Port/Term/Cols/Rows/Font/Notes, each phonebook entry also carries: iCE Colors toggle - blink attribute = bright background (BBS-art convention) vs. real blinking UTF-8 toggle - decode incoming UTF-8 down to CP437 instead of treating every byte as raw CP437 IEMSI auto-login toggle (separate from the general IEMSI feature - opt-in per entry) Simulated baud rate - throttles how fast received bytes reach the screen to mimic a real modem (uses the SIM_BAUD_PRESETS list: Off, 300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, 7200, 9600, 12000, 14400, 16800, 19200, 21600, 24000, 26400, 28800, 31200, 33600, 38400, 57600, 115200 - including the odd in-between V.32bis/V.34 CONNECT speeds, not just round numbers) Connection type (mutually exclusive): Telnet (default) / SSH2 / TelnetS (telnet-over-TLS, port 992) / RLogin (with separate client/server usernames) / Raw socket / Shell (local process) SSH key file - optional public-key auth, falling back to password Shell command - overrides the default cmd.exe for Shell-type entries (e.g. wsl.exe, a Cygwin bash.exe) TLS "trust new certificate" and SSH "trust new key" - one-shot TOFU overrides for a changed cert/host-key fingerprint Auto-login script (line-based wait/send automation) Last-connected timestamp and times-connected counter (tracked automatically, not user-set) submitted by /u/Exodus694 [link] [comments]
