• Trying to Install a Working Copy of TW2002 Into an Old WWIV BBS and Failing

    From BBS ( /u/ayukawataur https://www.reddit.com/user/ayukawataur ) to All on Fri Jul 24 19:49:00 2026

Good day all. I do not know if this is the proper location for this but I am drawing a blank over and over so I thought I might try. Usually I am not this dense, but I fear this time I may be too close to the problem.
I am currently playing around with an old copy of Tradewars 2002 on an older WWIV 4.21a BBS install (i386DX 33 MSDOS 3.0) and though I have managed to get Tradewars 2001 working, Tradewars 2002 is really stretching my brain. I get to the Door Selection on my login and when I chose it, I get a frozen screen on the terminal while the console screen asks for a name. However, I can not enter anything into the name at either location.
Follows is the process by which it was installed (as I document everything when I am playing around):

I am hoping someone might be able to help. This is something I am working on for documenting how a BBS was made in the past before modern Internet Systems.
I may crosspost this. submitted by /u/ayukawataur [link] [comments]
