If you like I would like to start a discussion about the sense or nonsense of a BBS or forum refusing to register a user with a VPN, Proxy, Relay, or Tor connection.
What's your opinion if a BBS or forum doesn't allow such connections, at least for registration on that portal? Is that a reason for you not to register there?
What prevails here? The sysop's or admin's interest in ensuring that a desired person from a desired country actually registers on their BBS or forum and gains access to their system, or the desire for anonymity, or rather, the lack of user tracking?
I'm curious about this because every day I see people from desirable countries trying to register with such connections, despite being advised that they're allowed to register. However, I'm faced with the dilemma that I see about eight times as many people every day trying to register from countries that aren't desirable for good reason.
