The X-Bit BBS has received a formal cease and desist notice from Microsoft regarding the unauthorized use of counterfeit and non-compliant Windows 7 software licenses. The notice specifically references:
- Alleged use of improperly licensed copies of Windows 7 in a production environment
- Deployment of Microsoft software outside the terms of its original licensing agreement
- Continued operation of network-accessible services on software not authorized for public use
