Review of the Haines study of the CIA involvement with UFOs

When we think about real disinformation, like when the government tells us not to believe our lying eyes, and gaslights us, this is not a new phenomenon.

A seminal report by Gerald Haines released in 1997 specifically references Project BLUE BOOK investigators explaining away UFO sightings as ice crystals and temperature inversions when these sightings actually overlapped U-2 spy plane flight paths. He cites, "According to later estimates from CIA officials who worked on the U-2 project and the OXCART (SR-71, or Blackbird) project, over half of all UFO reports from the late 1950's through the 1960's were accounted for by manned reconnaissance flights (namely U-2) over the United States. This led the Air Force to make misleading and deceptive statements to the public in order to allay the public fears and to protect an extraordinarily sensitive national security project."

We know that many UFO sightings today are satellites or drones, but it is not outside the realm of possibility that we are seeing new US technology that they do not want to disclose. In rhe 1980's the Air Force was looking for the next gen plane to replace the aging SR-71, and began funding the Aurora Program through black/special access funding in 1985. Whether there ever was an SR-91, or if this program resulted in the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber, we can be certain that like the U-2 and SR-71, its test flights were likely spotted by the public, identified as UFOs and then debunked by the government as something else. And we can be certain that this standard operating procedure continues today on new military tech. There is no reason to believe otherwise.
