I'm currently, thanks to posts on BBS's, starting to repurpose old equipment with Linux. Did it a few years ago, but people weren't interested (wasn't selling, just trying not to e-cycle). Right now I'm having fun with it and figure someone will want something! Plus I'm learning. :-)

But Petey is right there with me the whole way... ;-) He (it?) is also helping me with my HAM tower and learning Anderson PowerPoles, grounding,
    etc. :-)

Did you mean a /Rework/? Couldn't find a reference to "reflow".

Yeah sorry. Rework station. Been watching some videos on reflowing chips.

Ahhh my nemesis soldering. I cannot even get a blob right :) I have a
    shake
in my hands that just seem to prevent me doing it

    Surface-mount is even worse.

100%, I cannot do it at all

And I have a NUC I was going to use for ham radio AllStar - but it
needs Debian 12, so I'm going to redo it.

Never tried allstar yet, it is on my plans

Well it's up and running, but had an issue with the sound, and
my soldering skills aren't up to par yet, so I ordered a pre
modded one on eBay... When it comes in I'll get back to it. :-)

My issue is just not enough practice yet. I like to build model
cars, and the painting the tiny details is one of my favorite
parts, so that doesn't bother me. I just haven't learned how
    to do it yet... :-)

That's why you use a reflow hot air station.

Have one on my work bench - and I've removed stuff, but haven't
had any luck yet on putting stuff back on. :-)
