Petey has been helping me with LOTS of stuff... This last batch
of stuff started with GAM and has really REALLY been a satisfying
rabbit hole. :-)

LOL - nice!
I'm currently, thanks to posts on BBS's, starting to repurpose old equipment with Linux. Did it a few years ago, but people weren't interested (wasn't selling, just trying not to e-cycle). Right now I'm having fun with it and figure someone will want something! Plus I'm learning. :-)
But Petey is right there with me the whole way... ;-) He (it?) is also helping me with my HAM tower and learning Anderson PowerPoles, grounding, etc. :-)

I run most of my stuff on various PI except one 2015 Macbook Air that
has windows on it to run wxsim for me. I have several pc boards as well that are in various stage of me doing something with.

The only thing I know about electrics is not to stick your tongue on a battery, guess how I know that ;)

Don't have a Pi... Wife had one in her classroom at one time - I need to find out where it is! LOL

Err, I have an addiction to them. Currently 12 Pi2 Zerom 1 Pi2, 2 Pi 3,
3 Pi 4 and a Pi 5 on the way :) Guess that is why I don't have a wife
:)

You know what they say, "absent Wife, happy life".
Me and electrics don't match :)
Shocking revelation.

Sourced several NUC Dell units. Loading Linux on one now to test out. Thought of loading Pi on one for classroom use, but thinking Linux
will be better in the long run. Thinking of using one in the ham shack
SDR maybe - maybe other stuff...

I have 2 old Apple Mac Mini,
one runs my Plex server and the other is a
test bed at the moment for Lidarr etc.
I have been meaning to get some
Dell NUC as well to test

Have one MacMini at home - an older Intel one. Was using it to AirPlay movies from, but haven't turned it on in a while.
Have another one at work that kept MacOS on for a desktop unit for
some utility and troubleshooting stuff. Have three more on the shelf
not being used.

Wasn't familiar with the latter. Cool use.

I'm pleased so far with the single unit I've been using.

I have a stupidly big music library going back many many years. I used
to buy CDs for the fun of it. I started to digitise them years ago

I find them to be well specced and run most Linux well, although the
Plex machine is still OSX, cannot recall which version

I have a Dell Atom PC well it is more NUC shaped but without the power.
I use it for my podcast machine, it grabs all my subscriptions and
stores them until I am ready to listen

I'm saving up to buy a 16TB drive to put in the BBS server to store my movies, TV shows, and music. Once I get that set up, I'll set up a private VPN to share with friends.
My BBS runs on a HPE ProLiant ML110 8th gen, so I have plenty of power
to spare for extra activities.

I should pull one and give it a try with Linux... Thx!

Oh cool!
And I have a NUC I was going to use for ham radio AllStar - but it
needs Debian 12, so I'm going to redo it.

Ditto. They're currently stored on YouTube Music. They used to be on Amazon Music, but they changed their setup so I had to find a new home.

I do need to get some more storage as I am slowly filling the NAS, I
have 4 4tb drives. I think I will add a second NAS and use that for the music and then put the bbs file echos onto the old NAS

I have a buddy who works in IT and he's gonna ask around to see if he
can get me a large (8-16 TB) HDD for a good price.
I remember when 10MB was a massive amount of storage space!

Well it's up and running, but had an issue with the sound, and
my soldering skills aren't up to par yet, so I ordered a pre
modded one on eBay... When it comes in I'll get back to it. :-)
Ahhh my nemesis soldering. I cannot even get a blob right :) I have a shake in my hands that just seem to prevent me doing it

Surface-mount is even worse.
That's why you use a reflow hot air station.
Did you mean a /Rework/? Couldn't find a reference to "reflow".
