• Odd NetwrkManager behavior

From Sean Dennis@86:100/1 to All on Tue Oct 21 19:06:22 2025
    Hello, All!

I recently installed Devuan Daeldaus (sp?) on my Dell Latitude E7240 laptop. If I put the system in suspend by closing the lid, when the system wakes up, I have no WiFi unless I cycle the WiFi physical switch (a tiny thing on the left of the laptop).

I'm not quite sure what I could do to solve this issue.

I have not asked in the Devuan fora yet but I wanted to try here first.

In my experience, there are often little things that don't quite work right after suspending and resuming.

I'm not quite sure what I could do to solve this issue.

Maybe try restarting /etc/init.d/network-manager ? It is quite possible that the system turns off the power to the WiFi adapter when it goes into suspend, which probably means you're stuck having to toggle the WiFi switch to get the power turned on again.

Can't hurt to check there also.

That makes sense with the power cycling.

I will and I'll post the best answer here also.
