• Raspbian BBS?

From Noh Wai to All on Mon Apr 28 16:55:36 2025
Has anyone attempted to run a BBS on a Raspberry Pi?

I'm attempting to get some actual use out of my Pi 4B that's sat around collecting dust.

I run BBBS/Linux 64bit on Raspian. Never misses a beat

A number of years ago, I ran Synchronet on a 3B+ until the power circuit
    died.

Mystic BBS runs great on an RPi. Mystic Guy on Youtube has a whole series on setting it up.

I originally ran my BBS on an RPi4 using Mystic. Converted it to a VM since I have an RX720 in the rack.

    Marvelous! Any special steps needed?

Nope, runs straight out of the box. Think you need the base linux files and then add the raspian ones on top, but I am not sure. BBBS is not always the easiest to setup, old MUD style I believe

I modified instructions that were already posted on the Synchronet Wiki
for running on the latest Rpi at the time, I think it was a Rpi4. This
includes running dosemu2 for door games. I didn't actually run the BBS
on it, more of a proof of concept.
