Today, CISA launched CI Fortify: Strengthening Resilience Across Critical I= nfrastructure [ https://www.cisa.gov/fortify?utm_source=3DCIFortifyWeb&utm_= medium=3DGovDelivery ], a nationwide initiative to bolster the resilience o=
f critical infrastructure against escalating cyber threats.

America=E2=80=99s critical infrastructure (CI) is frequently targeted by ma= licious nation-state cyber threat actors. These adversaries seek persistent=
access to vital systems and aim to disrupt essential services such as tele= communications, water, energy, and transportation. To address these threats=
, CI organizations must be able to operate through a crisis or conflict; co= ntinuing vital service delivery even as their systems are under attack.=E2= =80=AF=E2=80=AF

To minimize the impact of a successful attack, CI Fortify centers on two ca= pabilities:


* *Isolation:* Proactively disconnecting from third-party dependencies an=
d operating without reliable telecommunications, internet, vendors, service=
providers, and upstream dependencies.=20
* *Recovery:* Rapidly restoring vital compromised systems while isolated.= =20

Developing these capabilities will help ensure that critical services can w= ithstand and recover from cyberattacks aiming to degrade or disrupt infrast= ructure.
