I haven't used one of those, but a couple years ago I used to own one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Evolution-MK-461C-61-Note-MIDI-Keyboard/dp/B0002T6G5M

I used it as a MIDI device connected to my computer to make music. I thought it was fairly decent. It worked well with Windows and Mac OS.

I had a Roland PC-180 myself (In fact it's still somewhere in my mother's place), which is similar to that one you mentioned, but as I'm not a keyboardist I don't need a full keyboard with so many keys. I just want something small (mainly due the lack of physical space on my current flat), to be able to create some basic melodies.
