I used to be a session studio bongo drum player. But I had to give it up when all I was getting for work was recording assignments with Calypso groups. Too much shouting. I mean man, it was too piercing. So I took my bongo drums
home. I might get back into it if another genre ends up featuring the bongo drum again.

That reminds me of Phil Collins's story in his autobiograph Not Dead Yet or his memoirs or whatever he calls it. Worth a read.
