Wow..No posts since 2015? Has anyone used Amplitude or other software for playing there guitar? I'm curious which is better. A "real Amp" or software?

I haven't used Amplitude, but I'm not sure how much it matters at this point. Recently I decided to replace my big & heavy Fender Twin Reverb '65 Reissue amp with a Fender Mustang 3 v2, which is a solid-state modeling amp. Being a modeling amp, it basically has onboard software that can make it sound like a wide variety of amps - I think it does a great job, and actually sounds fairly close to the Twin Reverb (as well as many other amps). And it's much lighter and less expensive than a Twin Reverb - I think it would be a great first amp for someone who doesn't have one. It lacks vibrato though, but I imagine there are probably vibrato pedals available.
