I'm watching Miami Vice and in S04E07 ("Missing Hours") at around 12 minute in, a very young Chris Rock is talking about being on a BBS.
Ah, the 80s.
Good catch, I'll have to revisit that episode....
I heard that "Global Thermonuclear War" was a popular 80's door game, haha
James Brown also stars in that episode. It's a really bizzare episode.

Was it one about cyber crime? ;)
What I always found amusing was the animated flying envelopes for emails and Usenet postings in Mission Impossible.... Tom Cruise being a super hacker spamming every group involving the Book of Job.

It was worse in Spain because we didn't have much knowledge of what Usenet w back then (or now, for that matter). I think in the Spanish version they refered to it as "The Internet" so a lot of people didn't really know what t fuck was going on XD

There is a Linux program (the name escapes me now) that turns your desktop into a "Hollywood hacker" screen. It's hilarious.

hacknet on Steam is something I've always wanted to play on a laptop in an airport... It's a fun hacking game with some interesting visuals...
