After five months of health issues I think I'm on the other side of things. Of course I may have gotten a cold over the weekend. Figures

    Isn't getting old fun?

The very day I turned 30 (my bday), my right knee started popping while I was walking to the convenience store. It's been all downhill from there :(.

I forgot how difficult Little Nemo the Dream Master was.

Was that a platformer? And was it NES or SNES or something else?

    Yup, NES.

Also I revisited Castlevania 2 the other day... that lasted maybe a halfhour before I gave up.

There used to be times I could sit and be determined to finish a game but those times are long past now.

I hear that. I can't even stand playing for more than 1/2 hour or so. If it's more than that, it must be a gem.

Me neither but lately I've been binge-playing Hoyle 3 on DOS, only because the Backgammon game portion is addicting... well to me anyway... in that it
either has a bug, an exploit or just a case of lazy programming just like all those impossible NES-game-bosses that got so easy once you saw the patterns.

The way it tries to win against you is by manipulating the dice roll... Dice rolls are not random, the roll returned is only random in how many times the computer gets a perfect roll to do something while you end up with jack-shit.

And it will magically roll perfect doubles to get itself out of whatever merciless beating you're dishing out... all while you sit back and loudly yell **BUUUUULLLLL SHIT** at your monitor.

It even makes the 7-11 "bingbong" doorbell sound to really taunt you... Sheer brutality. The average game doesn't even last a few minutes.

But if you deliberately leave your pieces open to be captured in the upper right section of the board, the computer will stop at nothing to take them.

It does this elsewhere in the game but theres "something" about that upper-right section. Every freaking time. It will abandon any sort of logic and immediately focus on capturing pieces, completely ignoring any strategy you can use to build up your own home section so its impossible for him.

Eventually I was able to figure out how to beat this game at least 8 or 9 times out of 10, even on the Expert setting.
