Ubuntu with DRBD

Has anyone used DRBD by LINBIT?
DRBD is a distributed replicated storage system for the Linux platform. It is implemented as a kernel driver, several userspace management applications, and some shell scripts.
DRBD is traditionally used in high availability (HA) computer clusters, but beginning with DRBD version 9, it can also be used to create larger software defined storage pools with a focus on cloud integration.
It works well at my work, but was interesting to setup. It uses STONITH (Shoot The Other Node In The Head) when a resource (server) is unresponsive and forces a reboot via IPMI.
We run it on 2 Ubuntu servers.

Hi,
I have only used this program in network raid situations.
I have not tried to use this in a clustering sort of situation or in a situation to expand a storage system over multiple machines.

Hello Khronos!
Replying to a msg dated 17 Feb 24 16:53, from you to me.
It works pretty well. It was a bear to get working. I originally set it up on my personal VMware cluster with small files, but we have 50 TB of data and that takes a while to replicate then you find errors and have to tweak settings, etc. Fun stuff. lol
