• How does cancer start in the body?

From Mike Dippel@999:1/1 to All on Tue Feb 10 21:35:56 2026
Everyone develops cancer cells all their life.

Our immune system removes these cells.

Sometime the cancer cells learn how to evade the immune system and then can start
    growing.

When I had a squamous cell cancer of my skin, I knew it was a cancer because this
hideous wound on my skin was totally numb.

I found out later that cancer will use chemicals to numb the nervous system to hide from
    the immune system.

Sometimes the immune system finds them anyway and the cancer will be destroyed.

An oncologist friend told me that many times when a patient with lymphoma is referred
to him, they will be cured by the immune system before their appointment with him.

Some tumors are so slow growing that when a person is age 80 there is no treatment
done because the tumor will not be the cause of death.

A person who is age 80 will not need PSA or colonoscopy or mammogram because the
odds are that the tumor will do no harm.
