Saw Palmetto-cheap, pretty safe, not very effective
Alpha Blockers-like Doxazosin, relax the muscles around the bladder, for less symptoms
Antiandrogens-like finasteride or dutasteride, do reduce the size and metabolic activity
of the prostate, donÿt shrink things a lot but do help with symptoms.
Surgical procedures donÿt shrink things, they destroy things creating more room: TURP
(most effective, most side effects), Green Laser, Cryotherapy, Urolift.
Each has its place and its adherents. If youÿre going to have something like this done, go
to the local guy who has the most experience.
