People love to overcomplicate skincare, but in my experience as a chemist and pharmacist it comes down to a few simple things (non-negotiables).

    1. Cleanse gently

I was surprised to see this, but some people don˙t know how to clean their skin. Doing it
wrong strips your skin barrier. You want to clean gently. A mild, low-foam cleanser is
plenty unless you˙re removing heavy makeup or sunscreen. You don˙t need anything
other than your bare hands. Not only loofahs and brushes are useless, they also become
    a bacteria den.

    2. Moisturize according to your skin˙s needs

Dry skin? Look for ceramides, fatty acids, cholesterol. Oily skin? Lighter gel-creams can
still give you the hydration you need without clogging pores (you still need to
moisturize). Jojoba oil is a great ingredient to look for in a moisturizer for acne prone
    skin.

    3. Wear SPF every morning

Not just in summer. Not just at the beach. UV damage happens daily, and sunscreen is
the single best anti-aging product you can use.

    4. Be consistent, not impulsive

A product needs weeks (sometimes months) to show results. Stop switching every two
weeks chasing "instant glow." It doesn˙t exist and you˙re wasting money.

    5. Watch your lifestyle

Poor sleep, constant stress, and a junk-heavy diet will show up on your skin no matter
how perfect your skincare routine is. Age accentuates this even more.

    6. Exercise.

You need to walk ( I do 10k steps a day but you can do more), lift weight and do some
cardio. I love playing tennis because it˙s cardio but it˙s also fun. The weights are great to
build muscles which counteract saggy skin.

    7. Use a retinoid at night.

Retinoids are the ingredients with the most scientific studies and clinical trials to support
their benefits. No need to guess, what product to use for anti-aging˙simply choose a
    retinol serum or tretinoin (retin-A)

If you stick to these basics, you˙ll have 99% of the benefits without needing 15 products
    on your bathroom counter.
