Thank you for your interest in HobbyNet.

I don't currently support QWK, but I can try and set it up if it is totally necessary.
Generally nodes use BinkP with port 24554 but other ports are used as well.

It IS fido type. What BBS software are you using? Other sysOPs can certainly assist you. If you are running Mystic, I can certainly assist.

I am running synchronet. One of the hardest bbs software to use. At least from what I gathered from various ai sources. I am new to running a bbs, it's only been up three months. I feel like I should have a better board by now. Synchronet can do so much, the documentation is huge. To read it all, it would take some time. I kind of feel bad asking for help. It's not anyone's responsibility to help me.

I'm sure that there are plenty of sysOPs here running SBBS. Reach out to them.

I am very interested, I have never set up a fido style network. If you
are willing to help, I'm down. I actually feel kind of bad asking for help. Maybe I should stick with qwk networks. It's not anyone's place to help me --- SBBSecho 3.37-Linux

We are all here for each other. I will look into QWK and get back to you.

Try logging into hobbylinebbs.com with a user name you want to use for QWK transfers.
Once that profile is confirmed I will change the security level for QWK.

Then you would log in with the user name preceded by an exclamation point. IE., ! username
    and the password.

Select the conference areas and configure it on your end, then try posing 1 message to
    test it.

I believe Robert Wolfe is using QWK. He can help you if this doesn't work.

I also have a Synchronet system that offers QWK networking for other
networks and can offer to let him pull it from here if FTN or QWK from you fails. It looks like I have a few echoes missing but can add them.
