I don't think I've ever heard of them here (North America).

Not particularly crazy about their stuff, but the song "Just a
Little Bit of Light Banter" sounded fun.

The group/duo sound a lot like another band I'm thinking of.

I wish I was there for a few more days during my holiday then I could have helped them chart there.

My first impression was that they were UK. They seem to have a
bit of a foreign accent when they sing.

Kudos to them for having endured so long - since the 70's,
    apparently.

Look at the Stones, they've been around since the '60s, and still kickin'. How, I'll never know.

True enough. They probably sold their souls to the Devil. ;)

Jethro Tull is still maintaining a fine presence. Started in
1967. The sound still remains quite signature/distinctive.

Agree to disagree. While Aderson owns the rights to the name, "Jethro Tull", now that he's the only remaining original member, is it really JT anymore? As for the "signature" sound, I'd say that ever sice Ian /properly/ learned how to play the flute, he sounds pretty much like any other flute player. On the up side, he's still got that great voice.

On the Showtime series "Roadies", which covers the life of roadies
supporting a band, they hire a band to be the opening act at one of the
shows. On the day of the show, 3 bands show up all claiming to be the
    band name they hired....

I was a fan of the band Queensryche. At one point, they fired the lead
singer and his wife who was running the back office. The singer quickly
hired a band and put an album out as Queensryche. The remainder of
the band filed a cease and desist, it got tied up in court, then they
settled out of court with the proviso that the singer could finish the
tour in its entirety, then play specific songs under conditions.

While this was happening, the band hired a new lead singer and released
    a different Queensryche album.

The singer changed his tour name to the Queensryche Farewell Tour,
seeing as he was saying goodbye to the name. Everyone thought the band
was retiring, forcing the band to release press conferences affirming
    that they weren't retiring...

    Now, That's Entertainment!

Maybe it was a one hit wonder, but the only song of theirs I remember was Angst in my Pants. I remember getting that album as one of those columbia house record deals. In that same deal I got Michael Jackson's Thriller and Adam Ant's Friend or Foe, and several others that I can't remember.

I hope it doesn't show, it'll go away
It's just a passing phase, it'll go away
You can dress nautical, learn to tie knots
Take lots of Dramamine out on your yacht
But when you're all alone, and nothing bites
You'd wish you'd stayed at home with someone nice
But when you think you made it disappear
It comes again, hello, I'm here
And I've got angst in my pants
You can be smart as hell, know how to add
Know how to figure things on yellow pads
Answer so no one knows what you just said
But when you're all alone, you and your head
What's the computer say? It's mumbling now
It says "Hey Joe, " it's spelled it out
And you've got angst in your pants
You've got angst in your pants
But when you think you've made it disappear
You're sure you made it disappear
And you've still got angst in your pants
I hope it doesn't show, it'll go away
It's just a passing phase, it'll go away
I hope it doesn't show, it'll go away
Give it a hundred years, it won't go away
And I've got angst in my pants
I've got angst in my pants
I've got angst in my pants
I've got angst in my pants
(I've got angst in my pants)
I've got angst in my pants
(I've got angst in my pants)
I've got angst in my pants

I am a fan of theirs from their 1994-present era.

There is various eras of Sparks

The beginning (their first 2 albums 1971-1972)

Their UK era (1974-1975) Their trillogy of Kimono/Propaganda and Indiscreet

Their Return to America (Big Beat and Introducing Sparks)

Their electro era Number 1 in heaven and pernament jive

Their American alternative rock era (WHOMP THAT SUCKER/ANGUST IN MY PANTS/IN OUTER SPACE) Pulling Rabits out of a hat and then music you can dance to.

Their down period of Interior Design in 1988 that led them in the wilderness until 1993

With Gratuitious Sax and Senseless Violins (they have some hits like when do i get to sing my way, now that i own the bbc, and when i kiss you i hear charlie parker playing.)

Then they did a collab album called Plagerism with famous bands that loved them like faith no more and erasure.

Then we get the 2000 era of Balls, Lil Beethoven, Hello Young Lovers and Exotic creatures of the deep...

Then they did a Swedish Radio Opera in 2012 about Imigmar Bergman.

2015 gave us the collab album with Franz Ferdnand called FFS..

    2017 was Hippopatamus.

2020 gave us A Steady Drip Drip

2023 Girl is crying in her latte

    then 2025 is Mad!

Over 28 albums and almost 400 songs to choose from.
