I'm not what you'd call a retro "fanatic"... I just like good, effective human communication without all the bloat and privacy-invading and fakeness of GAFAM inet, that's why I keep coming back to telnet BBSs.
What's retro computing for me? Keep on playing Elite Dangerous in Legacy mode. The E:D Horizons 3.8 version of the game isn't quite "retro"... it's a pretty much new-er game, from I belive 2015. Still, it even has expansions that are more recent, and update the game hightening the system requirements and bringing the game even further away from a "retro vibe" and harder into the photorealistic graphics render.
Legacy Horizons 3.8 is by no means a "ANSI art game"... it's pretty much as photorealistic as Odyssey, but lacks quite a high mount of updates and improvements.
For me, I like flying in VR. VR alone is in its own a whole "retro cyberpunkish" thang, and it's considered quite much as a gimmick to be tried and moved on from after a handful of go arounds. I just damn love it, and the performance of my rig in Legacy surpassed by much a lot what is can do in Odyssey. Also, I found a nice community online of CMDRs that still also fly in Legacy, mostly on Xbox and Playstation (the Odyssey expansion has no console version).
Well, that's about as much I wanted to say, so thank you for reading, and if you don't know what the hell is Elite and what is all this nonesense about, I'd invite you to try the game and come fly with me whenever you feel you're ready for it.
