  • Doorparty issue?

    I have been trying for days now to try and get doorparty door to work with Synchronet.
    I downloaded the custom package. I turned off all my firewalls to see if thats the cause and it's not.

    local_port = 9999
    ssh_host = dp.throwbackbbs.com
    ssh_port = 2022
    rlogin_host = dp.throwbackbbs.com
    rlogin_port = 513

    I am getting the following:
    2026/04/09 22:08:35 Accepted connection
    2026/04/09 22:08:56 [GXY]Test encountered error connecting to SSH server: dial tcp 32.216.242.85:2022: connectex: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

    Any ideas?

    I replied in a personal email on my BBS, but I'll repeat it here just in case someone else has an issue from this point on, it might be a similar thing encountered.

    I have fail2ban set to ban an IP for 6 months after 3 failed session attempts at hitting the SSH server; 9 total tries. If your SSH username isn't matched to the accounts existing for the SSH server and you fail those three times, you get the banhammer. If that's the case, just email me and I'll unban your IP.
