    Absolutely not. That's why you have to keep upgrading. :)

    And had I waited a few more minutes, I realized I had yet another kernel upgrade available!

    $ cat /proc/version
    Linux version 7.1.2-arch3-1 (linux@archlinux) (gcc (GCC) 16.1.1 20260625, GNU ld (GNU Binutils) 2.46.1) #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Fri, 03 Jul 2026 23:25:36 +0000

    And sounds like the upstream kernel kids have already mentioned a new error reported on bootup on non-intel machines, which will be patched shortly:

    'virt/tdx: TDX not supported by the host platform'

    .. and the beat goes on.

    Nick

    I assume 'upgrade' in this case mens update. I am not convinced this is an upgrade ...

    Fresh out of the oven and uptime claims "18:03:51 up 7 min" which sounds about right. I'll probably reboot to the so-called stable boot after replying to your posts as this rootfs is lacking some things I use on a daily basis. The fidonet stuff works given that it uses basic software that is part and parcel of every linux distribution I've ever heard of.

    Gotta love it.

    Hej Nick!

    'virt/tdx: TDX not supported by the host platform'

    In my case there is only one machine here it could possibly work on and I am unsure at this writing if it's cpu and/or bios supports tdx. Should I be losing any sleep over this?

    'virt/tdx: TDX not supported by the host platform'

    Either it needs further patching or more likely intel tdx is not supported on this platform. It is an eight penguin intel based host with both vt-x and vt-d support. I didn't see anything in the bios about tdx anywhere.

    Anyhow I am leaving it turned on in the kernel along with other virtualization thingies relating to it and keep an eye on it in future kernel up{date,grade}s.

    Too much fun.

    Life is good,
