I think this issue would normally be avoided by relaying through a mail rela RS>that doesn't rewrite the From header field (e.g. Vertrauen's mail.synchro.ne RS>as suggested in https://wiki.synchro.net/howto:relay_smtp) . What you're RS>suggesting seems like a reasonable work-around though.

Don't worry about it. Happens to me all the time. It's fine when you use something day in or day or have been for 30 years, but even after 9 years I still forget stuff exists, or how I got something working and wonder what I was thinking back then. I blame it on being an age thing :)

You're welcome. Generally, when you're new at something, it's good
practice to observe and follow what you see others doing. Have you seen
