• Is binkit binkp 1.1 compliant?

    Howdy @Deuce

    I'm tracking down why my session with clrghouz are finishing failed - and it appears only with Synchronet binkit.

    I think its because binkit advertises 1.1, but it doesnt send a final round of EOB and wait for EOB.

    In the following outbound session:

    ```
    Since it received a file from me `000e5343.pkt` shouldnt it have sent another S_EOB indicating that there is nothing else (in case it processed that file)? (This is what I see other BINKP implementations do - I always see two EOBs from the remote).
    I see the same problem on an inbound session - binkit tears down the session before sending a final round of EOBs.
    From: FSP-1024
    `The binkp/1.1 protocol defines multiple batches, this means that
    after a batch ends (M_EOB frame sent) the mailer checks the
    outbound for new files and starts a new batchs if files are found.`
    BinkIT is 1.1 compliant. The most obvious possibility is that the other end does not advertise itself as binkp 1.1. Further, you're not showing all the way to the end, so it doesn't clearly show a lack of M_EOB. The extra scan has specific circumstances on when it happens, it's not a blanket "Always send an extra M_EOB" or there would be issues with infinite loops.
    So, I'm the other end (ie: my software) - and yes both advertises and interacts with other binkp 1.1 mailers.
    The last round of EOB's, as I understand it, is a round of EOBs when there are no transfers - so it wouldnt be infinit. The session stops when one end says I got nothing, and the other end says I also got nothing.
    Here is the complete transfer:
    ```

    Ok, so these logs still don't have the messages that are required to enter 1.1 mode in them, I'll need the **full** set of messages in both directions to trace through the BinkIT behaviour. If you don't want to make them public, feel free to email them to me shurd@sasktel.net or upload to sysop on my BBS at bbsdev.net.

    Next, it looks like your software is ending the batch early. The binkp spec has strict non-obvious requirements on who goes first and such. It's too late for me to dig into the spec tonight, but I can take a look once I have the complete session to look at.

    The line:

    We got an M_EOB, but there are still 1 files pending M_GOT

    Is a warning, and may be jogging BinkITs elbow so it enters a failsafe state. --- SBBSecho 3.37-Linux

    You can see it directly, just make a poll to clrhgouz.bbs.dege.au - we have session details defined for `bbsdev`.

    Port 24564 is my `dev` environment where I've turned up the debugging. The main mailer is on 24554.

    If you give me the number in the `TRNS` line, I can give you the log for that session (on the dev server).
