    Hello Andy,

But I doubt I'll be maintaining modemu2k much longer.

I'm not sure that anyone cares about such things anymore, but I do.

I'm not sure there is much to be done with modemu2k now but I hope you
can keep an eye on it.

Thanks Alan. I just updated it to v0.2.2 ;)

I got a few messages here that are dated from 2023 I think. I replied to you then, hopefully. Probably I was using Prism
    BBS then.

    Talk to you soon.

I saw those files on the BBS, thanks!

I'll get those files sorted properly soon.

I got your email also and then I borked my desktop before I had a chance to reply. I'll reply to you shortly.

No worries. I logged in a few hours ago and downloaded a QWK packet. Didn't see anything from you yet. I'll
check again in a few days.

This is the first I heard about it. May she Rest in Peace. I first "met" her around 2004. She helped me set up
FidoNet on a BBS I was helping with. Later, she helped me distribute some of my work on FileGate. We
occassionally touched base and had a few personal conversations. Someone as nice as her is very special. I wish
I'd have been on Fido in 2024 to see what was going on and say goodbye. :(

Hmmmm... me and Maurice like problems. I can't speak for him other than that, but if you think a solution exists, you and I could meet on Jitsi chat and do some troubleshooting. I've been known to solve problems.

How were they pessimistic? The program made it to at least six probes, four more than reality.

I recently read that the thrusters are still working after 35 years of inactivity. Now that's built tough.

I rememembered in ST The Motion Picture that it was theorized that Voyager had been sucked into a black hole, and then assimilated. But my train of thought wasn't remembering some details well. So... it become One with the Creator and ... it vaporized but wasn't actually destroyed? Did it ever transmit all the data it obtained?

You're thinking of the TOS episode, "The Changeling". The original probe sent out from Earth was called Nomad. The modified version that showed up on the Enterprise retained that name.

probe sent out from Earth was called Nomad.

At my age I should know better than to totally rely on memory. :::sigh:::

first broadcast on September 29, 1967

That helps to explain my mixed memory of the tv episode with the movie version. Despite this I still will default to the tv episode simply because of the cheesie el-cheapo special effects. Also it took less than an hour to resolve what took the movie more than an hour of overdone graphics for more or less the same plot, with the same actors. Vger ... V'Ger ... V'ger, was a nice touch although Voyager wouldn't have existed when the tv episode was aired.
