A man who has repeatedly targeted a Whangarei volunteer fire station has
struck again, allegedly smashing a window for the fifth time in 12 months.
Police said the most recent incident of windows being broken at the Kamo Fire Station occurred on April 12 at around 7am.
"The offender was captured on CCTV wearing a dark hoody, blue jeans, distinctive bright green socks, and black slip-on footwear with white soles,"
a spokesperson said.
"This incident is the fifth occurrence at the station over the last 12
months."
The volunteer brigade said the man "has it in" for the station for reasons unknown.
"We are disappointed to have to ask for our communities help to identify someone who obviously has it in for our volunteer fire station," the station said in a post to Facebook.
"It just doesn't make sense to us that he would walk directly across Kamo Rd
to the Fire Station, and using a tool of some sort, smash a high window and then walk off back the way he came."
Anyone with information about these incidents or who may have seen suspicious activity around the fire station should contact police on 105.
