    Chuck Forsberg (Omen Technologies) created the YMODEM and ZMODEM file transfer protocols (both derived to different degress from Ward Christensen's XMODEM).

    The Forbin Project was the original shop that created Qmodem, I

    John Friel was one of the originators of Colossus BBS as a beta tester and developer. Dan Plunkett wrote Clossus and pulled in Friel and 2 others to create a company they named The Forbin Project.
    While with them John Friel III released, in 84 I think, Qmodem as an alternative to PC-Talk. He sold Qmodem in 91 to Mustang Software who
    revamped it and released Qmodem Pro in 92.

    I think you're getting Cuck Forsberg, author of DSZ Zmodem, confused with
    this. He was never with The Forbin Project.
