I'm a bookless Christian. The bible is a book, books are a form of media, and the media has been incredibly dishonest with people, especially for the past 8 years.

But I AM a Christian. I believe in Jesus and I believe everything he (allegedly) said. I believe in him because I've seen evidence of the power that my prayers to him hold.

I want people to understand that you don't need a book to help you connect with God, and that you probably don't need statues that are worth thousands of dollars, either. You don't need an ancient text. The miracles of life are self-evident, and so is Jesus' power.

I love church though so I pretend to care about "books" while I'm there.

Is "Shitty" a good username for a Christian though?

I do believe that the text is legit, but like I've said before -
we get Christianity from JESUS, not from the Bible.

Yes, I believe the Bible is legit - I believe that it is a written
record from eyewitnesses of Jesus, but at the end of the day it is
still JESUS that is key, not the Bible...

Is "Shitty" a good username for a Christian though?

If you believe in Mr. Christ (Jesus' dad) then you must believe that he made shit and therefore he made things shitty. Shittiness is part of his creation and therefore perfectly acceptable. You may not like it, but it's all part of his big plan and you just wouldn't understand it.

I can be Christian and still have a sense of humor. And I can still make my own decisions on what's right and what's wrong. I didn't learn that stuff from books.

Books don't dictate our relationship with Jesus. Priests can read all the books they want and they still know as much about right and wrong as the next guy.

The bible does a lot of good for a lot of people. There are inspirational stories in there.

But the bible is a form of media, just like msnbc.com. For me, the bible doesn't pull a rabbit out of a hat, but my prayers to Jesus sure do.

Good point. There are even people who have made careers out of it, like the septic pumping guys, wastewater technicians, and here in the states we have the Environmental Protection Agency.

And as if that weren't enough, we also have Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, and Bruce Springsteen, and there are really nutty people who love all that shit.

There is when it comes to big things like hurting other people. But not when it comes to silly things like swearing or talking about feces.

Couldn't that be hurting other people though? If you want to share Jesus
with someone but they see your 'name' you have chosen, are they going to
    listen to you?
